The proposed bond measure is estimated not to increase the current tax rate. Redmond School District will upgrade and update all of our schools to provide healthy, safe, and secure campuses that are modern and efficient. The district will expand the student capacity and prepare for future growth by building 6 additional classrooms at both Vern Patrick Elementary School and Tom McCall Elementary School.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Students, you all have Safe Oregon’s link on your Chromebook. Help keep our Wolf Pack safe! If you see something, say something.

Our Principal

I’m Jensine Peterson and it is an honor to serve as Principal of Obsidian Middle School. I believe a child’s future is in the making and that each day is an opportunity to expand their lifelong opportunity. As a fellow parent, I believe educating our children is the most important investment we make each day.

An educator since 2004, I am the first in my family to attend college.  I earned my Bachelor of Science Education from Northern Arizona University and my Masters in School Administration from Concordia University. I’ve taught both middle and high school in the public and private sectors, and in both rural and urban areas. From 2013-2020, I served as Assistant Principal of Ridgeview High School. I’m proud to call the Redmond School District my community.

2020-21 is a year like none other. Starting school in a comprehensive distance learning model brings unique opportunities and challenges. I am committed to leading Obsidian Middle School to be the best distance learning school in all of Central Oregon!  We’ll achieve this goal by focusing on Collaboration, Connectivity, and Care during this unique school year.

Our Theme this year is “Here We Are.” Even though we’re all learning from different locations this fall, we are ONE WOLFPACK ~ united through our love for learning and passion for creating a bright future for our community. Our top-notch educators are embracing this year as a unique moment in your child’s life ~ and we’re making it count! Our team is passionate about bringing structure, rigor, compassion, and achievement to your child – even if they don’t come to our physical campus each day.

Should your child or family need any support this school year, please reach out and let our team know. We stand ready to serve and to remove barriers to learning out of every child’s way.

Please introduce yourself when we have the good fortune of crossing paths! It’s an honor to partner with you in educating your scholar.

Please consider donating to one of our programs so that more students have the opportunity to participate.

*All donations will go directly towards equipment and scholarships for OUR students.
